We All Have 24 Hours

October 1, 2011 By Ben

What separates the super achievers from the average person generally isn’t a constriction of time, it’s direction.

We all have 24 hours.*

The trouble is not that we don’t have enough time, but we don’t know what to do with it.

I’ve struggled with it and 1,000 people have written books on the subject.

The most important thing you can do is figure out where you want to go.

All of is essentially get in a car each day for 24 hours. Some people spend most of that time aimlessly driving around. Others are heading towards a fixed goal.

Once you know where you want to be, you can then reverse engineer and break down the steps it would take for you to get there. Knowing where you want to be makes getting there incredibly easier, but definitely not easy.

We all have the same amount each day on this earth. Some people do great things, some wander about searching for meaning.

The faster you can decide where you want to go, the quicker you can get on a path that’ll take you there.

*(I realize some people only have 2 free hours a day and others 8. With proper direction, the person with 2 free hours will be far more productive than the person with 8 free hours and no driving goals.)

Sometimes the next goal can be further down the same path, but often times you’ll be starting a new path. It depends on the goal.
