Patience

January 25, 2012 By Ben

french bulldog

Currently training our 3 month old French bulldog.

He’s impulsive, hyper-active, and has almost no patience.

Or he’s like most people starting a business or hobby.

99% of success with training a dog is patience.

When the trainer was teaching him to wait for his food, it wasn’t until the 10th time that she was successful.

Patience wins.

And few people are patient.

Once that hobby or business idea loses the novelty and the real work comes in, that’s when people quit.

But it’s also when you grow the most.

This isn’t an argument against quitting.

Many things are worth quitting.

Discerning what is worth quitting is extremely valuable.

You likely know the path you’re on.

Are you quitting because you’re tired and can’t handle the additional effort or is the road you’re going down a cul-de-sac?

Nice post. Reads like the Cliffs Notes of Seth Godin’s The Dip (http://sethgodin.typepad.com/the_dip/).
