How Would You Treat a Million Dollar Race Horse?

October 26, 2011 By Ben

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Zig Ziglar, per Seth Godin’s high praise. One of my favorite points he makes in a talk concerns how we treat ourselves.

If you had a million dollar race horse, how would you treat it?

Would you let it watch TV all night after a day at the track?

Would you let it snack on Cheetos and donuts?

Would you let it party all weekend because it worked a hard week?

Ah, but what about a million dollar body and mind?

If you wouldn’t treat a million dollar race horse that poorly, why do it to yourself?

Why eat a poor diet, consume bad stimuli in TV, and deprive yourself of sleep?

Be careful of your habits. For what you consistently do is what you become.
