I enjoy the boxing gym I belong to.
The classes are intense, the trainers are great, and every week I’m pushed a little bit farther.
But I’m too busy to make all of the classes that I’ve been trying to go to, so I was considering downgrading my account to just “Open Gym.”
Then last week I checked my credit card statement. My monthly gym membership increased $6.
I had no idea the rate increased.
I’m on their mailing list and read every email.
I’m in the gym twice a week.
They never told me about it.
It’s likely out of fear. Fear that I would get upset and cancel altogether.
But was I never going to find out that I was being charged more?
You’re going to have the conversation eventually. Have it as soon as you can.
Don’t be afraid of your customers. They’ve been paying you for a reason.
