I just canceled my membership to the boxing gym I train at.
I had been going there twice a week for a year and a half.
Week after week, the notes from the instructor became fewer and fewer until I was basically just paying someone to create a workout plan for me.
I still got a lot out of it each session, but it was time to break the routine.
So today I cancelled my membership and bought a Groupon for a month of yoga.
I’ve never done yoga. I’m not flexible. And I know almost nothing about yoga.
It will be humbling and likely embarrassing.
But it’s an opportunity to be stretched and to grow.
Those opportunities always come when you break a routine.

It is great to break routine and to start a new one, amazing how the body gets used to the same workouts and stays at the same level if you don’t switch it up. I tried marathons and it just ate away the muscles that weren’t used to run. My favorite new workouts are based on the book You are Your Own Gym. I use the app to keep track of the workouts and it can be done anywhere, no membership fees, just self discipline.

It’s all about randomness. I’ll have to check out that book/app. The 100 push-up app is great too.

I love Yoga. It is relaxing, and though it doesn’t seem intensive, you will find yourself incredibly sore afterward.

Which yoga studio did you go to?

Yoga. An opportunity to be stretched.
